On 15 April, during the Netcomm Forum 2025, a workshop entitled ‘Mail Boxes Etc. and GEL Proximity: the evolution of proximity logistics’ was held, providing an opportunity to discuss one of the most significant trends in the e-commerce sector.
During the meeting, Lorenzo Maggioni, CEO of GEL Proximity, explained how the growing popularity of collection points and lockers is transforming the e-commerce delivery paradigm, offering a more sustainable and flexible alternative to traditional home delivery. This is a clear direction that reflects the evolution of consumer preferences, which are increasingly oriented towards convenient, customisable and environmentally friendly delivery solutions.
Representing Mail Boxes Etc. Italia was Marco Bonello, Marketing & Product Senior Manager, who explored the strategic role of the MBE network in supporting changing purchasing and delivery habits.
The workshop also focused on the integration between the eCommerce, shipping and logistics services of the global MBE network and the GEL Proximity technology platform: a concrete innovation model designed to respond to new market needs and enable companies to simplify eCommerce deliveries by accessing over 300,000 Pickup Points and Lockers in Italy and around the world.
