Rome, Oct. 11, 2021 – There is a lot of attention to the environment and sustainability in the digital products, projects and services, winners of the Top of the PID award, the national competition promoted by the Digital Enterprise Points (PIDs) of the Chambers of Commerce now in its third edition. There are those who have created 3D furniture elements from materials destined for incinerators; those who have invented a robot capable of controlling the painting of industrial artifacts, limiting energy consumption and the amount of paint used; those who have optimized the Logistics of automated Pickup Points so beloved by eCommerce addicts, to enable Proximity distribution; and those who have reinvented the ancient art of dyeing and washing garments, cutting down on the consumption of water, energy and chemicals.
These entrepreneurial ventures received the recognition put up for grabs by the PID network as part of Maker Faire Rome 2021, the digital and technology exhibition that concluded yesterday in Rome. Six enterprises won the coveted award in one of the following categories: sustainability; smart and advanced manufacturing; social; services, trade and tourism; and new business models 4.0. Three other enterprises, however, were given special mentions.
The winners were selected from 127 applications submitted by enterprises that used at least one of the many services offered by PIDs. “Services, Trade and Tourism” was the most popular category among participants, but “Sustainability” and “Social” also received numerous nominations.
